MRS. CAMRON ANDREW MCLAUGHLIN
Linda-Kay Woodean Launier and Camron Andrew McLaughlin, both of Rome, were married at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Saint Clements Catholic Church in Calhoun. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur G. Launier of Rome. The groom is the son of Torri Gulledge of Dothan, Ala., and Matt McLaughlin of Jackson, Tenn. The bride wore a ballerina-length white satin dress with a floral beading design. She wore a birdcage-style veil with two silk gardenias as an accent in her hair, and a pair of peep toe pumps with crystals. To complete her look, she carried a handkerchief with hand made bobbin lace, made by her mother. The mass was preformed by the Rev. Joe Shaute and attended by immediate family only. They continued the weekend with a separate ceremony at 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 5, 2009, at Barnsley Gardens Resort in Adairsville. The vow-renewal at Barnsley Gardens was preformed by the Rev. Hon Lee, and had family and friends in attendance. At Barnsley, the ceremony took place in the Town Hall before an altar adorned with baby’s breath, Bells of Ireland, white carnations and blue delphinium flanked by gold candle stands and white taper candles. The aisle was presented with ferns. The ceremony at Barnsley was started by bag piper Scott McAlily. He greeted all the guest and welcomed them while playing Scottish music, in honor of the groom’s Scottish heritage. French and Scottish flags flew in front of the Town Hall in honor of both families. A program of wedding music included “Rondeau in D,” “Green Sleeves,” “Wedding March,” “Ave Maria” and “Unchained Melody.” Ceremony music was preformed by organist Mrs. Don Lee and violinist Fatima Cheing. Regina L. Proffitt of Rome was the matron of honor. She wore a sapphire blue floor-length gown of tissue taffeta and carried a hand-tied bouquet of white carnations, daisies, baby’s breath, statice and blue delphinium. The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, wore a white satin, sweetheart neckline gown, embroidered with baby blue and royal blue floral bouquets and moss green and champagne leaf designs with butterflies. She wore an elbow-length single-tiered veil. Her jewelry consisted of diamond and pearl earrings, gifts from the groom, and one of her mother’s pearl necklaces as her something borrowed. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of baby’s breath, blue delphinium, white daisies, myrtle, rosemary, statice, white snapdragons, white tulips and green buttons. William H. Swinford of Rome was the best man. The mother of the bride wore a formal dress of midnight blue chiffon with a matching jacket. The mothers of the bridal couple were presented with corsages of white roses, white orchids, myrtle, green buttons and delphinium. The grandmothers were presented with a variation of the same flowers. Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Barnsley Pavilion Ballrooms. Refreshments included the bride’s three-tier cupcake tower, with white cake and cream cheese frosted mini cakes featuring a band of baby blue around the tops, and a six-inch cutting cake adorned by a crown-shaped topper. All the cakes were dusted with sand-sugar. The groom’s cake was a red velvet cake shaped like a wine bottle with the label reading “Linda-Kay and Camron 4-5-09.” The evening before the Barnsley ceremony, the best man hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Barnsley Gardens German Bier Gardens. Other pre-nuptial parties included a miscellaneous shower and afternoon tea hosted by Mrs. Dylan Moseley and Regina Proffitt at the home of Suzanne Jones in Rome and a lingerie shower and bachelorette party hosted by Regina Proffitt.
