  • The Historic Floyd County Courthouse will close today at 1:30 p.m. for Georgia Power to begin rerouting power lines as part of the work on the adjacent parking lot. The Tag Office, Property Tax Office, Mobile Home Office and Tax Assessor’s offices will be closed this afternoon, but will resume normal business hours beginning Monday at 8 a.m. As a convenience to customers wanting to renew their tags, a drop box is located in front of the Judicial Building courthouse. Customers can drop off the renewals and not receive a late penalty.
  • The MOM’s Group of Oak Grove Baptist, Adairsville, will hold a series of event this month. Today: Welcome Spring Day at 10 a.m. at the Family Life Center; April 17: Play Day at Ridge Ferry Park, Rome, at 10 a.m. and April 25: Mom’s Night Out at 6:30 p.m. at Amy’s house.   • The Rome Art Coterie will have the opening reception for the National Juried Art Exhibition on today at 6 p.m. at the Rome Area Council for the Arts Gallery. Forty-seven works will be on display.   • Ladies Night Out at the DeSoto Theater will be tonight at 6:30 p.m. with a reception of wine, hors d’oeuvres, desserts and a women’s expo with women’s products and services. The musical “Gypsy” will be presented by the Rome Little Theatre at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at the box office for $25 per person. For more information call 706-295-7171.
  • The First Friday Dance will be tonight from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Senior Adult Recreation Center, 1325 Kingston Road. Admission costs $5. For more information call 770-684-4661.
  • The Coosa High School Follies will be today and Saturday at 7 p.m. each night. There will be acts from Garden Lakes, Alto Park and Cave Spring elementary schools and Coosa middle and high schools. For more information call Patti Stephens at 706-346-9786.
  • Rome Little Theatre’s production of “Gypsy” will continue through Sunday at the DeSoto Theater, 530 Broad St. Performances are at 8 p.m. Saturday and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $14 for adults and $12 for students and seniors. For more information call 706-295-7171.
