Lauren Leigh Rigas of Rome and Corey Lamar Smith of Silver Creek announce their engagement. Rigas is the daughter of Judy Rigas and Sonny Rigas, both of Rome. Smith is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Smith of Silver Creek. Miss Rigas is a 2002 graduate of Rome High School, a 2007 graduate of Georgia Highlands College with an associate of applied science degree and a 2009 graduate of American Intercontinental University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. The bride-elect is the sister of Ben Rigas of Rome. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Harry M. Ruland, Dr. and Mrs. Lambros Rigas, all of Rome and the late Harry Ruland. Smith is a 2003 graduate of Pepperell High School and a 2007 graduate of Coosa Valley Technical College with a degree in electronics technology with a specialization in industrial electronics. He is employed with Coosa Valley Communications Inc. in Rome. The groom-elect is the brother of Kandy Sheppard of Aragon. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Guy Smith and the late Mr. and Mrs. Noble Parkerson Deems. The private wedding ceremony is planned for Saturday, July 18, 2009, on Jekyll Island. Invitations will be sent.
