(John Bailey / Rome News-Tribune) Police arrested a Floyd County man around noon Monday in the parking lot of the Dollar General on North Fifth Avenue after they said he hit a woman in the head with a gun. According to Rome police detective Hank Jackson: Robin Emmitt Clark, 41, of 45 A Jack St., Silver Creek, drove to the Dollar General and approached a couple, then began arguing with them. Witnesses said Clark struck a woman in the head with a pistol, and both her and the man accompanying her ended up on the ground. When police arrived, they told Clark to drop his gun and he complied without incident. He was arrested and charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault and one count of battery. Clark allegedly told police he thought the couple was involved in a burglary. No Related links found
