A Calhoun man was arrested Wednesday in connection with drug charges after he was found to have dropped a half-smoked joint in a Broad Street bar, reports stated.
According to Rome police reports:
David Andrew Moore, 26, of a Calhoun address, was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana after police watched Moore and a friend walk into the Peach Palace and smelled marijuana on Moore.
They followed Moore inside and after searching him and finding nothing let Moore and his friend leave. Moments later, an employee of the Peach Palace found a half-smoked joint on the ground where Moore had been standing, and police arrested after catching up with him on the street.
Moore was later released from the Floyd County Jail on $1,250 in bail.
Alabama woman turns self in on charges of violating pawn purchasing rules
An Alabama woman was charged Wednesday in connection with violating state and local laws governing the purchases pawn shops made from customers, reports stated.
According to Rome police reports:
Darlene Billie Young, 60, of Cedar Bluff, Ala., was charged with violating state law 43-37-6 after it was reported she bought gold jewelry from a confidential informant police used to conduct an undercover investigation of pawn shops.
Young was reported to have purchased the gold without asking for a form of identification and without reporting the sale in the citys computer system for pawn transactions on March 3, and was brought in for questioning by Rome police detectives on Wednesday.
She was later released from the Floyd County Jail Wednesday after turning herself in.
Two charged in theft of bush hog
Two Rome men remain in jail on theft and criminal trespass charges this morning after it was reported the two took a bush hog from an East Main Street address, reports stated.
According to reports from the Floyd County Jail:
David Lamar Griffin, 52, of 1704 Flannery Street, and John Anthony Mathis, 41, of 37 Honeysuckle Ridge, were both arrested Wednesday on charges of theft by taking and criminal trespass after it was reported they took a bush hog, worth $2,500, from an address in the 100 block of East Main Street.
The two remained in jail this morning with no bail.
Lindale teen charged with aggravated sexual battery
A Lindale teen remains in jail this morning on felony aggravated sexual battery charges after being arrested Wednesday, reports stated.
According to reports from the Floyd County Jail:
Dustin Holden, 18, of 3415 Maple Road in Lindale, was charged with the single felony count after it was reported he molested a 16-year-old on Feb. 18.
He remains in jail today with no bail waiting for his first appearance.
