The March 30 episode of The National Geographic Channel’s series called “Hard Time” will spotlight the Oct. 13, 2008, prison escape from Hays State Prison in Chattooga County.
The final episode, entitled "Breakout," will air at 9 p.m. on the National Geographic Channel. (Comcast cable 109)
Camera crews were on site and followed the manhunt for Johnny Mack Brown and Michael A. Tweedell, who were later recaptured.
The series seeks to illustrate how everyone, from prisoner to corrections officer, deals with the rigors of daily life behind bars.
The prison in Pennville houses around 1,400 prisoners and a number of inmates sentenced to serve in boot camp programs.
