Train derailed after hitting truck in Bibb Co. 02/12/09 Email this story to a friend From the Macon Telegraph By Matt Barnwell A Bibb County man suffered life-threatening injuries when a train struck the truck he was driving in Smarr on Wednesday morning. Johnny Wynes Jr., 71, was taken by helicopter to The Medical Center of Central Georgia, where he was in stable condition late Wednesday. The accident happened at about 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Rumble Road and U.S. 41. The Norfolk-Southern train, which consisted of two locomotives and four rail cars traveling north, derailed just beyond the crossing.
