Police in Bartow County are investigating the early Wednesday morning death of Jeffery Alan Long, 47, of White.
According to Bartow Sheriff Clark Millsap:
Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a disorderly person call on Simpson Road at around 2:50 a.m. Wednesday. They found Long behind his residence, screaming.
Deputies scuffled with Long and after he was handcuffed noticed he had stopped screaming and his breathing was shallow. They began CPR and called for an ambulance.
Long was transported to Cartersville Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.
The Bartow County Coroner’s Office has turned Long’s body over to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for examination and to determine cause of death.
