Jason Heyward and Freddie Freeman, who starred for the Rome Braves last season, are scheduled to appear in the Rome Christmas Parade on Tuesday night on Broad Street.
Freeman and Heyward are both ranked among the top-10 prospects in the Atlanta Braves’ farm system, and both were South Atlantic League All -tars in 2008.
“Fans are always excited to see players like Jason and Freddie return home for the holidays,” says Rome General Manager Michael Dunn.
Heyward was named the Topps Minor League Baseball Player of the year in the SAL as well as the SAL’s Most Outstanding Major League Prospect. Freeman set a new club record for single-season RBIs and earned back-to-back Player of the Week honors.
