LaShawnda Reneé King and Wayne Edward Wise were married at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, at Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church in Rome. The bride is the daughter of Josephine King of Rome and Mr. and Mrs. Clinton A. King of Stone Mountain. The groom is the son of Eva Wise of Cartersville and Alonzo Wise of Euharlee. The Rev. Homer L. Printup of Kingston performed the double-ring ceremony before an altar adorned with three silver candelabras draped with white rose ivy with soft white candles, soft ivory pillar candles for the unity candles and memory candles with red bud roses. The family pews were marked with ivory rose balls with ivory satin ribbons. A program of wedding music included You and I and Forever. Vocalist Felicia Key sang So Beautiful and vocalist Kimberly Mathis sang Aint Got U. Natalie Ellis of Rome was the matron of honor. Jennifer Bailey of Cartersville, sister of the groom, was the maid of honor. She wore a long sleeveless chiffon dress with a charmeuse rounded neckline and a sash at the waist in chocolate truffle. Brandi Byars of Summerville was the bridesmaid. She and the matron of honor wore satin strapless A-line dresses with sashes in chocolate truffle. Taleeia Smith of Rome was the junior bridesmaid. She wore a sleeveless chiffon A-line dress with beaded straps in red apple. The attendants carried bouquets of red roses and white buds tied in chocolate ribbons. The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, wore an ivory-champagne strapless beaded lace satin corset with gathered satin overlay and side-split front with beaded lace inset and a lace-up, split back with a chapel-length train. The bride carried a bouquet of ivory roses with crystal jewels and ivory pearl buds with a crystal holder. The father of the groom was the best man. Groomsmen were Dwight Ellis of Rome and Otis Bailey of Cartersville. The junior groomsman was Christopher King Jr. of Kingston, son of the bride and groom. The mother of the bride wore a formal dress of champagne shimmer fabric with a matching jacket trimmed with pearl and crystal beading on the shoulder. The mother of the groom wore a navy blue dress suit with crystal beading around the bottom of the jacket. The mothers of the bridal couple were presented with corsages of red roses. The grandmothers were presented with corsages of red roses. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church in Rome. Refreshments included the brides three-tier chocolate cake with white butter cream icing and chocolate fudge icing in between each tier. The base of each square tier was wrapped in chocolate ribbon. The grooms two-tier round yellow cake with chocolate icing was adorned with sugared fruit draping down the side. The evening before the wedding, the grooms family hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Ryans Steakhouse restaurant in Rome. Other pre-nuptial parties included a bridal shower hosted by Deanna Battles and Jane Gavette at Northwest Georgia Medical Clinic in Rome. The couple will reside in Kingston. A wedding trip is planned for next year to celebrate their one-year anniversary.
