One person was injured and taken to the hospital after a three-vehicle wreck on Kingston Highway at the loop.

Involved in the collision were a Ford Aerostar van with Louisiana plates, a Ford F150 and a semi truck from Seven Hills Transport of Cartersville.

It appears the tractor trailer was traveling westbound on the loop and collided with the van while attempting a left turn onto Kingston Highway. The van was then rear-ended by the pickup truck.

According to Georgia State Patrol Sgt. Scott Thompson, the van seems to have run the red light while the semi had a green light.

The driver of the van was taken to Floyd Medical Center.

Traffic was backed up on for a time on the loop in both directions and was partially blocked on Kingston Highway.
