Johnny Studdards, who was a victim in a bucket truck accident Tuesday while cleaning the First Baptist Church of Rome's exterior on Fourth Avenue, remains in critical condition at Erlanger Hospital this morning in the intensive care unit.
Rome police reported that Studdards was 50 feet in the air when the supports on the left side of the truck pushed into the ground. The truck flipped on its side and crashed in the courtyard of the church around 2:30 p.m.
He was rushed to Floyd Medical Center by emergency personnel and later was taken by life flight to Erlanger for further treatment of his injuries, which remain unknown.
