3 arrested and charged with assault, sodomy

Three Rome men were arrested early Monday morning and charged with sex crimes and assault.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Jose Noe Vicente Cha­nchavac, 24, Isaias Chavez Lopez, 19, and Fernando Pelico Vicente, 48, all of South Broad Street, were arrested by Rome police around 5:30 a.m. in the 300 block of South Broad. Each man was charged with felony aggravated assault, felony false imprisonment and felony aggravated sodomy.

The three men allegedly held a male victim against his will, with Chanchavac accused of striking him with a machete. The men are accused of holding a knife to the victim’s throat.

All three remain in jail without bond.
