Melinda Ann Campbell of Rome and Nico LaShaun Wright of Gadsden, Ala., were married at 7 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, in the garden of The Coosa House in Rome.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Garrard of Rome and the late Michael Boatwright. She is the granddaughter of Carolyn Shubert, the late Ray Shubert, the late Joe Boatwright and the late Myrtle Boatwright.
The groom is the son of Kenny Trimble and Estella Wright, both of Gadsden. He is the grandson of Juanita Wright of Gadsden and the late Doc Wright.
Judge Bob Couey performed the double-ring ceremony before family and friends.
A program of wedding music included the theme from the motion picture Love Story, Inside Your Heaven, A Moment Like This and After All Is Said and Done.
The bride, escorted by the couples son, Cain Campbell, wore a white strapless layered dress with a beaded line and a starburst of beads along the side. The bride carried a bouquet of a half dozen red roses with babys breath, greenery with strings of pearls with double hearts and feathers with pearls held together with red, white and black ribbons. Monica Burge of Vinings was the maid of honor. She wore a black organza dress with sheer halter straps.
Flower girls were Bree Neighbors of Summerville and Mallorie Duncan of Rome. They wore floor-length spaghetti strap dresses with rhinestones and a white ribbon bow on the front of the dress. One wore red and the other black.
Cain Campbell was the best man.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Coosa House.
Pre-nuptial parties included a bachelorette party in Chattanooga, Tenn.; a surprise poolside lingerie shower given by the brides cousins and a bridal brunch at the Harvest Moon Café in Rome given by the maid of honor.
