Man charged with felonies related to attempted theft

A Polk County man was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with two felony counts related to an attempted theft.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Cameron Leatherwood Sorrells, 21, of 564 Clarkwood Road in Rockmart, was arrested by Floyd County Sheriff’s Deputies on felony warrants for criminal damage to property and criminal attempt to commit theft.

According to the warrants, in April 2008, Sorrells damaged several spools of stainless steel wire during an attempt to steal them from a Floyd County manufacturing company, causing $500 worth of damage.

Sorrells was released from jail Wednesday night on $4,950 bond.
