MRS. MITCHELL DUSTIN CORDLE
Savannah Rachel Lloyd and Mitchell Dustin Cordle were married at 6 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, at Brookes Chapel, Shorter College in Rome.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Lloyd and the late JoAnna C. Lloyd. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Cordle of Rome and the late Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Lloyd of Rome.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mitch Cordle of Rome. He is the grandson of Mrs. Tommie Cannon, the late Tommie Cannon and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joel Cordle.

The Rev. Stephen Perry of West Palm Beach, Fla., performed the double-ring ceremony beneath a large white lattice arbor built by the bride’s father. A garden candle was lit in memory for the bride’s mother. Fresh foliage of spring rye and white chrysanthemums adorned the arbor and the spiral candelabra, framing the wedding party. Family pews were marked by similar fresh flowers.

A program of wedding music was provided by pianist Neil Sanders and violinists Timothy and Timithia Ringer of Rome. Selections included “Canon in D” and “The Lord’s Prayer.” Nikki Huckaby of Rome was the matron of honor and Summer Lloyd of Rome, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Sara, Mari and Leah Brennan, all sisters of the bride, as well as Haley Johnson, all of Rome. They wore fitted strapless formals in alternating colors of champagne, latté and honeydew melon. They each carried an arm bouquet of three long-stemmed cala lilies.

Addison Chapman of Kennesaw, cousin of the groom, and Joanna Cordle, cousin of the bride were the flower girls. They wore ivory satin tulle ankle-length dresses with champagne sashes and carried wicker baskets overflowing with rose petals.

The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore an ivory dotted Swiss tulle A-line gown with beaded lace appliqués, satin empire band and a lace-up back with chapel-length train. She wore a rhinestone headband and an ivory elbow-length veil, a gift from the groom. Before the wedding, the bride’s father presented her with her mother’s pearl necklace and garter. The bride wore the groom’s mother’s opal ring for something borrowed. The bride carried a bouquet of white sweetheart roses, hydrangea and miniature cala lilies entwined by vines.

Damien Cordle of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, brother of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were Chad Chapman, Cody Robinson, both of Cave Spring, Dex Edwards of Alabama and Russ Burnett and Matt Blanton, both of Rome.

Patrick Lloyd of Rome, cousin of the bride, was the ring bearer.

The mother of the bride wore a floor-length green sequined gown. The mother of the groom wore a black, formal gown with a short ivory bolero jacket. The mothers carried silver tussie mussies with miniature cala lilies. The grandmothers were presented with white sweetheart rose corsages.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Forrest Place in Rome. Refreshments included the bride’s four-tiered round wedding cake in alternating layers of white polka-dots with fresh persimmon-colored roses cascading down the sides. The groom’s three-tiered square cake of German-chocolate and chocolate was topped with fresh strawberries and a whimsical bridal couple.

The evening before the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Magretta Hall.

Other pre-nuptial parties included a bridal tea at the home of Tabatha Rogers and given by Lisa Chapman, Meredith Barnhill, Charlotte Chapman, and Jennifer Terry; a guys cookout for the groomsmen was hosted by Greg and Mike Cordle, uncles of the groom; a brunch hosted by the ladies of Fellowship Baptist Church; a shower for the groom hosted by Harbin Clinic Pediatrics; a shower hosted by employees of West Rome Animal Clinic at the home of Meleah Landers; a dinner shower at Olive Garden given by the bridesmaids and a neighborhood dinner was hosted at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Avery Almond. The best man hosted the groomsmen outing in Atlanta, while the bridesmaids treated the bride to a weekend get-a-way to Chattanooga, Tenn.

After a wedding trip to the Bahamas, the couple resides in Rome.
