The 19th annual Running Water Powwow Cherokee Homecoming will be held today from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Ridge Ferry Park. The event will include Native American music, dancing and crafts. Admission is $7 for adults, children age 12 and younger and seniors age 70 and older admitted free.
The annual Armuchee Bluegrass Festival will continue today at the Armuchee Music Park, 899 Turkey Mountain Road. Gates open today at noon at admission is $12. For more information call Chuck Langley at 706-766-6352.
The Rome Area History Museum will have its first Childrens Tea Party today from 3 to 5 p.m. for children ages 6 to 12. Sara Diggins, Miss Romes Outstanding Teen of 2008, will help entertain during an afternoon of parlor games and delicious tea fare. Tickets cost $15, and seating is limited. A Georgia Council of the Blind Fund Raiser will be today at 7 p.m. at the Senior Adult Recreation Center on Kingston Road. The event will be a comedy/variety family show featuring Elvis and Minnie Pearl impersonators. Tickets are $10 and contributions will go toward the Youth Program and scholarships. The Rome Little Theatre presents Alice in Wonderland today through Sept. 7 at 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. Admission is $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. For more information call 706-295-7171.
The Rome Braves will play tonight at 7 p.m. at State Mutual Stadium. The game will be followed by fireworks. Also, emergency officials will be at the game with firetrucks and other vehicles.
