The annual Armuchee Bluegrass Festival begins at 6 p.m. with a free cookout for those who purchase a three-day pass. The festival is at Armuchee Music Park, 899 Turkey Mountain Road.
A Part of It All, a concert with Jared Bradshaw and Taylor Buice, will be Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the Calloway Theatre at Shorter College.
The Rotary Club of Rome meets at noon at the Coosa Country Club.
Margaret DeFrancisco, Georgia Lottery Corporation president and CEO, will speak at the Delta Kappa Gamma/Beta Tau chapter meeting at 4:30 p.m. The meeting will be at the Calhoun Public Library.
The Rome Braves will host Charleston. Game time is 7 p.m.
The Atlanta Braves will host the Florida Marlins at 7:10 p.m.
In Decatur, the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice holds its monthly meeting at 10 a.m. at the Juvenile Justice Central Office, 3408 Covington Highway.
Kennesaw State University will host a U.S. Rep. Phil Gingrey-sponsored workshop to help citizens navigate the federal grant writing and contracting processes. The workshop, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., will be in the Social Sciences Building, first floor auditorium, at the university.
Gov. Sonny Perdue participates in a multi-agency program, including officials with the Georgia Emergency Management Agency, outlining National Preparedness Month state efforts. The program is at 1:30 p.m. at the State Capitol, North Wing steps.
