Lindsay Nicole Smith and Kevin Jamison Hollis were married at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, July 26, 2008, beachside at Miramar Beach in Destin, Fla.

The bride is the daughter of Craig and Becky Smith of Rome. She is the granddaughter of Tommy and Jenny Lindsey of Rome and the late Baltimore and Barbara Smith.

The groom is the son of Ann Hollis of Fayetteville and the late Marshall F. Hollis. He is the grandson of the late Glenn and Gladys Hanson and the late Marshall and Francis Hollis.

The Rev. Philip Carroll of Fort Walton performed the double-ring ceremony under a bamboo arch draped with swags of ivory chiffon and adorned with banana leaves and fuchsia, orange and red gerbera daisies. The aisle chairs featured a single fuchsia gerbera daisy with ribbon.

A program of wedding music was provided by guitarist Alex Routt of Atlanta.

Lauren Layng of Cartersville, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Karlina Roush of Rincon, Cathy Weed of Cumming and Gwendolyn Pyle of Austin, Texas. The matron of honor wore a sleeveless chiffon knee-length dress with satin beaded straps in watermelon. The bridesmaids wore knee-length strapless crinkle chiffon dresses in watermelon with ruched bodices and tonal ribbons at the waist. They carried bouquets of fuchsia, orange and red gerbera daisies accented with green miniature mums tied with green organza ribbons.

The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, wore an ivory strapless all-over beaded and lace gown with an empire waist and sweep train with pearl accents. She carried a bouquet of fuchsia, orange and red gerbera daisies accented with green miniature mums tied with ivory satin. Two nickels, given to the bride by her maternal grandfather, were pinned to her bouquet.

Kelly Hollis of Dacula, brother of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were Rick Davis of McDonough, Drew Gardner of Stockbridge and Shannon Short of Hapeville. Junior groomsmen were Jacob and Reece Hollis, both of Cumming, sons of the groom.

The mothers of the bridal couple and the grandmother of the bride were presented with miniature bouquets of assorted gerbera daisies.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Beach Walk Culinary Center in Destin. Refreshments included the bride’s three-tier round butter cream cake with layers of key lime and raspberry filling. The base of each layer was wrapped in fuchsia ribbon and accented with gerbera daisies. The groom’s dessert consisted of banana pudding served in martini glasses.

The evening before the wedding, the groom’s mother hosted a rehearsal dinner at Bobby J’s Seafood Bar and Grill in Destin.

Other pre-nuptial parties included a miscellaneous shower in Alpharetta hosted by Ashley Dollar, Michelle Boatright and Suzanne Adamson; a couple’s luau in Cumming hosted by Karlina Roush, Cathy Weed and Jami Britton; a miscellaneous shower including the ladies of West Rome Christian Church at the home of Lisa Brewer in Rome; a miscellaneous shower hosted by Julie Edwards, Jenny Lindsey, Lauren Layng and Amanda Carver in Rome; a miscellaneous shower given by the employees of Founders Kitchen and Bath in Alpharetta; and a girl’s weekend in Savannah hosted by Karlina Roush, Lauren Layng and Ashley Macleod .

After a wedding trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple will reside in Cumming.
