Mr. and Mrs. Tim Agan of Rome announce the engagement of their daughter Candice Elizabeth Agan to Kyle James Carlton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Carlton of Rome.
Miss Agan is a 2002 honor graduate of Rome High School, a 2005 honor graduate of Shorter College with a bachelor’s degree in education and is currently attending Walden University pursuing a master’s degree in education. She is employed with Rome City Schools as a kindergarten teacher at West Central Elementary and a basketball coach at Rome High School.
The bride-elect is the sister of Matthew Agan of Atlanta. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Poole of Rome, Emma Agan Gribble of Rome and the late Willis Agan.
Carlton is a 1998 graduate of Armuchee High School and a 2003 graduate of Coosa Valley Technical College with a diploma in machine tool technology. He is employed with Norfolk Southern Railway and is manager of Morningstar Horse Farm.
The groom-elect is the brother of Karey Sims of Rome. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard Causby and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Carlton.
The wedding ceremony is planned for Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, at Shorter Avenue Baptist Church in Rome. A reception will follow.
