James and Debbie Ashley of Silver Creek announce the engagement of their daughter LaTonya Renee Ashley to Joshua Daniel Smith, son of the Rev. Joel and Karen Smith of Summerville.
Miss Ashley is a 2000 graduate of Pepperell High School and is currently attending Coosa Valley Technical College pursuing a degree in sonography.
The bride-elect is the mother of Brayden Jace Redden. She is the sister of Brandy Purdy of Armuchee and J.G. Ashley of Silver Creek. She is the granddaughter of Barbara Ashley of Silver Creek, the late C.J. Ashley and the late John Davis Story and Pearlie Mae Story.
Smith is a 2003 graduate of Armuchee High School and is currently attending Coosa Valley Technical College pursuing a degree in fire science. He is employed by Gordon County Fire Department in Calhoun.
The groom-elect is the brother of Jon Smith of Atlanta and Michael Smith of Silver Creek. He is the grandson of Cornelia Smith of Summerville, Yvonne Hicks of Ball Ground, the late Rev. Roy Smith and the late David Sharpe.
The wedding ceremony is planned for Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, at Four Mile Baptist Church in Summerville. A reception will follow at The Reynold’s Barn.
