Michael Evans and Julie Evans announce the engagement of their daughter Mallorie Alexis Evans to Edward Jesse Mendence, son of Jan Mendence of Kingston and the late Donald Mendence.
Miss Evans, of Maryville, Tenn., is a 2004 honor graduate of Maryville High School, and a 2007 cum laude graduate of Berry College with a bachelor’s degree in communications. She is employed at Mary Beth West Consulting LLC in Maryville as a public relations account service coordinator.
The bride-elect is the sister of Mollie Evans of Maryville. She is the granddaughter of Charles and Dorothy Belcher and Zoe Ella Evans, all of Maryville, and the late Clifford Evans.
Mendence, of Maryville, is a 2001 valedictorian graduate of Model High School and a 2005 magna cum laude graduate of Maryville College with a bachelor’s degree in English with teacher licensure. He is employed at Maryville High School as an English teacher. He was recently employed at Armuchee High School where he was an English teacher, assistant football coach and girls head soccer coach.
The groom-elect is the brother of Zach Mendence and Donnie Mendence, both of Rome. He is the grandson of Edward and Janet Vollone of Naugatuck, Conn., and the late Albert and Lucy Mendence.
The wedding ceremony is planned for Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at Frost Chapel, Berry College in Rome. A reception will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rome.
