More Police Reports: 2 charged in theft of truck

Two area men charged with the theft of a F-250 Ford truck sometime early Wednesday morning remained in jail late Thursday, reports stated.

According to Rome police and Floyd County Jail records:

Jarrett Todd Louallen, 20, of 1289 Bethel Church Road in Silver Creek and David Anthony Blalock, 29, of 104 E. 14th St., are charged with felony theft by taking. Louallen is also charged with parole violation.

The truck, which also contained a Lincoln welder, was taken from a Hull Avenue address.

The police and owner used a GPS system in the truck to track down the location of the vehicle. Two other vehicles, a Jeep and a Geo Prizm, were also vandalized.

Louallen is accused of stealing the truck and Blalock is ac-cused of receiving the truck which “he knew or should have know was stolen” according to the report.

Both men remained in jail Thursday night on a parole hold.

Stolen air-conditioning unit

An air-conditioning unit was reported stolen this week, re- ports stated.

According to Rome police reports:

A central heat and air unit, valued at $3,800, was reported stolen from the 100 block of West Sixth Avenue. The theft is suspected to have occurred some time between July 29 and August 12.

A complainant said that someone stole an air-conditioning unit from one of his rental properties on 300 North 5th Ave-nue sometime between July 28 and July 29.

Woman returns to burglarized home

On Thursday, a Rome woman told police that after returning home after four days she found her house on the 2000 block of Flannery Street burglarized, reports stated.

According to Rome Police reports:

The burglar took a Dell computer, valued at $800, a jewelry box and jewelry, valued at $400, and a Sony CD player, valued at $70.

In another burglary Thursday on the 100 block of Parris Drive a Sony PlayStation, valued at $565; platinum wedding rings, valued at $1,200; and three games for the Playstation, valued at $140; were stolen.

The games were identified as Metal Gear 4, Bloodshot and Assassin’s Creed.
