Shorter College has announced that Greg Owens, a major gift officer for Shorters institutional advancement office, has been selected as the new head coach of the Lady Hawks womens golf team.
Owens played collegiate golf and baseball, graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in physical education, and received his Masters in leadership from Shorter.
Ultimately, it is our goal to have a coach for each and every team, both men and womens, said athletic director Bill Peterson. We are now one step closer to that goal. Greg has been an excellent amateur golfer and possesses strong recruiting, administrative and fund raising skills. He will be a great addition to what is already an impressive group of coaches.
Owens, who will will continue to serve in the institutional advancement office, takes over the position previously held by Ahmad Hayat, who will continue to serve as the mens head coach.
