Knee and shoulder surgeon Eric MacLeod has joined Redmond Regional Medical Center’s sports medicine department. He will see patients at his office at 100 Three Rivers Drive.

“Dr. MacLeod is an outstanding addition to our Redmond physician team and to our community,” said CEO Brenda Waltz. “His experience and orthopaedic skill will be a wonderful complement to our already outstanding medical staff.”

MacLeod, a native of Rome, graduated from Darlington School and went on to receive his Bachelor of Science Degree in biology from Davidson College. He then received his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine and continued at Emory to complete his Orthopaedic Surgery residency.

MacLeod then went on to complete a fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder and knee surgery focusing on innovative arthroscopic and reconstructive treatments at the University of Utah and The Orthopaedic Specialty Hospital.

Currently, MacLeod is the head team physician for the USA Freestyle Kayaking Team. MacLeod and his wife, Anne, have one son, William, and reside in Rome.
