Silver Creek man arrested for child molestation
A Silver Creek man was arrested Monday and charged with felony child molestation, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail records: Cody Anthony Pope, 17, of 70 Bethel Church Road was arrested on Monday night and charged with child molestation.
Rome man arrested for vehicle theft
A Rome man was booked early this morning and charged with felony theft, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
James Cambio Rounds, 44, of 16 CrossCreek Drive was arrested on two felony counts of theft by receiving stolen property for a 2005 silver Honda Civic, valued at $23,000, and separately charged with taking keys to the vehicle.
Rounds had reportedly stolen the Honda Civic from Subway on Turner McCall Boulevard sometime between 9 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Monday. He remained in jail early this morning.
Illinois woman says her name used for account in Rome
Police are investigating a report of fraudulent impersonation of an Illinois woman, reports stated.
According to Rome police records:
The Illinois woman contacted Georgia Power when she discovered an account for a Shorter Avenue address and told authorities she has never lived in Georgia. The account was opened between Jan. 14 and Feb. 4.
Air conditioning theft on East 11th
Police are investigating a theft that took place on East 11th Street, reports stated.
According to Rome police records:
An air unit, valued at $15,000, was stolen from the 200 block of East 11th Street sometime between Aug. 1 and Aug. 4. The complainant said he discovered the theft when he stopped by the location on Monday and checked on the retal house. The complainant gave police a possible suspect.
Stolen SUV recovered
Police reported that they recovered a stolen vehicle on Monday.
According to Rome police records:
A red 1989 Chevy Blazer SUV was reported stolen from a local man over the weekend. It was recovered on Monday in the woods behind the 200 block of Old Lindale Road. The SUV had a flat tire, busted back window and was covered in mud.
No suspects have been named.
Check forgery reported
Police are investigating a forged of check, reports stated.
According to Rome police records:
A Rome woman on Monday reported a check was forged in the amount of $163.36. The check was reportedly taken from a location on Kirton Street.
The complainant gave police the name of a possible suspect.
