| Area teens compete in National High School Rodeo |

Several Northwest Georgia teens are in Farmington, N.M., this week competing in the National High School Finals Rodeo. After four days of competition, the standings include:
- Cody Lanier of Summerville, 10th in steer wrestling and 9th in steer wrestling AVG
- Dusty Swanson of LaFayette, 10th in tie-down roping, 9th in tie-down roping AVG and 22nd in team roping AVG with Auston Thomas of Rome
- Auston Thomas of Rome, 64th in tie-down roping AVG and 22nd in team roping AVG with Dusty Swanson of LaFayette
- Cody Pringle of Silver Creek, 33rd in saddle bronc AVG
- Casey Cason and Blake Arp, both of Aragon, tied for 14th in bareback riding AVG
- Taylor King of Cedartown, 52nd in breakaway roping AVG and 58th in barrel racing AVG
- Jodi Stewart of Fairmount, 42nd in breakaway roping AVG
- Kassandra Smith of LaFayette, 66th in breakaway roping AVG and 70th in goat tying AVG
- Briana Brinkley of Summerville, 118th in pole-bending AVG
- Jacob Raburn of LaFayette, 60th in tie-down roping AVG and 88th in steer wrestling AVG
- Curt Mosley of Dalton, 42nd in tie-down roping AVG
The rodeo started Sunday and runs through Saturday. It is held annually in July with more than 1,500 contestants from around the country competing for national titles, awards and scholarships.
