As staff prepare for Bella Luna’s grand re-opening, owner Lee Ann Dempsey happily shares that her business has been approved to install doors from a plantation home in West Virginia.
“They’re approved and they look gorgeous,” Dempsey said. “I’m very excited about the doors.”
Though the gift and paper store had a “soft” opening on July 5, improvements are still being made to the property at15 E. Third Ave., including a new awning that should be up in about two weeks, Dempsey said.
A grand opening is planned for mid August, and will feature “Christmas in August,” this year’s version of the store’s annual summer push for early orders of personalized Christmas cards.
This month the store is promoting its back to school items, such as Vera Bradly notebooks and folders and personalized laundry bags. Many dorm items are scheduled to arrive next week.
Café Luna, a restaurant planned above the shop, should be open by early August, Dempsey said.
Bella Luna is open 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and closed Sunday and Monday.
