A Rome man was in jail today after he was pulled over at the intersection of Martha Berry Blvd. and Old Summerville Road around 5:30 a.m. and was found to have taken a minivan without permission, reports stated.
According to police reports:
Rome police stopped Thomas Steven Clemons, 49, of 2729 Martha Berry Blvd., after they saw him driving erractically this morning when police stopped him on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
After police ran the plates, they found the minivan Clemons was driving had been taken from an home in the 100 block of Turner Road earlier.
Clemons was taken into custody and transported to the Floyd County Jail, where he remained today waiting for first appearance on charges of theft by taking and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Adairsville woman arrested on drug, DUI charges
An Adairsville woman was taken into custody Friday and remained at the Floyd County Jail today on DUI and drug possession charges, reports stated.
According to Rome police reports:
Shannon Marie Haworth, 38, of an Adairsville address, was found in Summerville Park on the corner of Timothy Street and Charlton Road with her keys locked in the car Friday at 4:22 a.m.
Police found Haworth standing by her car and unable to steady herself. Police performed a field sobriety test and took her into custody.
During the arrest, police found two pills on her, which they reported to be an amphetamine and a barbituate.
Haworth was taken to jail where she remained today on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, possession of a Schedule II drug and criminal trespass.
