Mr. and Mrs. John William Newman of Rome announce the engagement of their daughter Paula Rebecca Newman to Joshua Phillip Holcomb, son of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Holcomb of Calhoun.
Miss Newman is a 2003 graduate of Rome High School and a 2008 honor graduate of Coosa Valley Technical College with an Associate of Science degree in neuromuscular massage therapy. She is employed at Harbin Clinic in Rome.
The bride-elect is the sister of Amy Newman Jones of Rome and John Robert Newman of Trussville, Ala. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Paul Timothy Pruitt of Cedartown, the late Paul Timothy Pruitt and the late Mr. and Mrs. Leon G. Newman.
Holcomb is a 2003 graduate of Gordon Central High School and attended the University of Tennessee at Martin. He is employed by Heath Consultants Inc.
The groom-elect is the brother of Haley Hollingsworth of Calhoun. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Lee Holcomb, Mrs. James Hollis Burnes and Nanny Marie Holcomb, both of Calhoun, and the late James Hollis Burnes.
The private wedding ceremony is planned for Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at Frost Chapel at Berry College. A reception will follow at Ford Dining Hall.
