The American Legion Post 136 Lindale and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 136 attended the state convention in Augusta on June 26-29.
Those attending were Commander William Frazier, his wife Dot, Robert and Marion Jean Hogan, Mickey and Gail Burkhalter, Gary and Jonnie Gilbert, Charlie and Betty Patterson and Charleen Balton and Daisy Clark.
The auxiliary received two awards from national for their history report and their contribution to the emergency fund. They received awards for the chaplains report and membership. Dot Frazier, the unit president of 136, received the Presidents Award of third place for outstanding service and assistance which contributed to the advancement of the American Legion Auxiliary programs.
The Lindale Post on Booze Mountain Road invites interested parties who are not members of other posts to come to its meetings held the fourth Monday of the month at 5 p.m. For more information, contact Dot Frazier at 706-234-7026.
