Two people were arrested late Thursday after they led police on a chase through Lindale, striking an officer but not injuring him.
Members of the Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force were carrying out a drug operation on Hillcrest Drive when the suspects fled, according to Cmdr. Joey Jacobs, head of the task force.
They struck the officer, who did not require medical attention, on Circle Drive before being caught.
The suspects will be charged with drug offenses, assault and some traffic charges, said Jacobs. During the chase a child was left unrestrained in the vehicle, Jacobs said.
The incident began to unfold around 11:30 p.m.
