Man wanted for Adairsville shooting arrested in Calhoun

Calhoun police arrested a man wanted in a Bartow County shooting without incident Sunday, officials said Monday.

Demarco Antonio Tair, 26, of Adairsville, surrendered to police Sunday and was booked into the Gordon County Jail.

According to Calhoun police:

On Sunday, the Adairsville Police Department notified the CPD a suspect involved in a shooting in Adairsville was believed to be in an apartment in Calhoun.

Adairsville police said the suspect could be armed with an assault rifle and a handgun. The Calhoun Police Special Response Team was called out and along with deputies from Gordon County Sheriff’s Office went to the Briarpatch Apartments, where Tair surrendered without incident.

A lookout was also posted Sunday in Floyd County for Tair.
