Mr. and Mrs. Archibald A. Farrar Jr. of Summerville announce the engagement of their daughter Challis Elizabeth Farrar to Andrew Derrick Latta, son of Mr. and Mrs. Greg W. Latta of Trion.
Miss Farrar is a 2001 honor graduate of Trion High School, a 2005 magna cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia and a 2008 graduate of the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University with her Doctor of Jurisprudence degree. She was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority at the University of Georgia. She will begin work with the law firm of Forrester and Brim in Gainesville.
The bride-elect is the sister of Mary Catherine Farrar of Summerville. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Archibald A. Farrar of Summerville, Mrs. Robert H. Wilks of Birmingham, Ala., the late Archibald A. Farrar and the late Robert H. Wilks.
Latta, of Gainesville, is a 2001 honor graduate of Trion High School and a 2005 graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science degree in forest resources. He has been associated with Care Medical of Athens since 2001 and has been general manager of Care Medical of Gainesville since 2005.
The groom-elect is the brother of Pvt. Benjamin K. Latta, who is now serving in Iraq. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Latta of Summerville and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Estus of Trion.
The wedding ceremony is planned for September at the Summerville First Baptist Church.
