Bond has been denied for James "Bart" Huskey, the LaFayette man arrested last week for making and selling child pornography on the Internet, according to the U.S. Attorneys office in Atlanta.
Huskey appeared for a bond hearing today before U.S. Magistrate Judge E. Clayton Scofield.
Huskey, who was a private tennis instructor in Northwest Georgia's Walker County, has been behind bars since his arrest last week. Investigators snagged him after a 2-year-long search that began with a tip in Australia. They managed to infiltrate what they call a security conscious underground internet ring that shared child porn.
They believe Huskey is the man in several videos they found on the site who raped and molested a young girl from the time she was 5 until recently, when she turned 9. Although his face was digitally disguised, investigators say they matched a bedspread pattern seen in the video and a wall painting to a Carroll County, Georgia motel, as well as a white van similar to one found in the driveway of Huskey's Lafayette home.
They say he confessed to the crime when they arrested him at his home last week and that the young girl believed to have been the victim in the videos has identified Huskey as her attack
