ELIZABETH AND ALLEN GARMANY |
Mr. and Mrs. Allen Garmany of Rome recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a surprise luncheon held at Wilkerson Road Baptist Church hosted by their children. The two were married on June 12, 1958, in Cherokee, Ala. The couple first met in church and their families became mutual friends.
Mrs. Garmany is the former Elizabeth Haggard of Centre, Ala. She is a graduate of Cherokee County High School. Her husband also graduated from Cherokee County High School. He was employed at Lockheed Martin, retiring after 30 years.
They have three children, Gary Garmany of Rome, Nancy Johnson of Marietta and the late Barbara Gunnells.
They have nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Especially happy times during their marriage were trips taken with their children and grandchildren and other family gatherings.
