Brown, Falcons come to terms

FLOWERY BRANCH — The Atlanta Falcons signed sixth round draft pick running back Thomas Brown from Georgia on Wednesday.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed but Brown joins former Bulldogs D.J. Shockley, Brandon Miller, Martrez Milner and Tony Taylor as members of the Atlanta team.

Brown finished his career at Georgia ranked fifth in school history in the rushing department with 2,646 yards on 529 rushing attempts.

His all-purpose total of 3,767 yards is the fourth-best all-time mark in Georgia annals. In his final season in Athens last year, he appeared in 10 games, recording 779 rushing yards with a career-high 10 touchdowns scored.

Brown earned SEC Player of the Week honors against Mississippi (9/29) after finishing with 16 carries for 184 yards and three touchdowns.

Brown attended Tucker High School and was an Atlanta Journal-Constitution Super 11, Super Southern 100 and Class AAAA All-State choice as a senior.

He rushed for 1,632 yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior and in seven games during his senior season, added 941 yards and 17 scores.
