Rome police arrested a man at Rome Municipal Court Wednesday when he was found with a baggie of marijuana at the metal detector, reports stated.
According to Rome police reports:
Angelo Dwayne Harris Jr., 23, of 6 Porter St. was taken into custody at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday when he emptied his pockets at the metal detector and placed a baggie of marijuana on the conveyor belt for inspection.
Police charged Harris with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and he remains at the Floyd County Jail this morning.
Searches lead to drug arrests
The Rome Floyd Metro Task Force arrested two men during searches early this morning, reports stated.
According to reports from the Floyd County Jail:
Garrett Dwayne Ridge, 21, of 20 Dwyatt St., was arrested when police executed a search warrant and found Ridge in possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, a marijuana grinder, a bong and a Harrington and Richardson 12-gauge shotgun.
Ridge was placed in custody and charged with felony possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, misdemeanor possession of marijuana less than one ounce and possession of drug related objects.
During another search, police arrested Kyle William Brown, 18, of 5261 Martha Berry Highway, for misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug related objects when they found him with a baggie of marijuana and a marijuana grinder.
Red Cross Palm Pilots go missing
Rome police responded to a call from the American Red Cross Wednesday after officials there found that two Palm Pilots worth $250 a piece went missing.
Red Cross officials told police that they were unsure of when the Palm Pilots went missing, and could not provide any suspect information.
