Rescue officials took a Shannon woman who was injured in a two-vehicle wreck today to a Rome hospital.

Rachael Reynolds was injured when her four-door gold Nissan collided with a PT Cruiser at the intersection of Calhoun Highway and Burlington Road around 2:15 p.m. in Shannon, witnesses said.

According to Donald Boatner, Floyd County police officer:

Reynolds, 28, was traveling south on Burlington Road when her car was struck by a Chevrolet HHR driven by Traci Ledford, 41, of Rome, who was traveling west on Calhoun Road and ran a redlight.

Ledford was cited for running a redlight.

Reynolds had no passenger and Ledford was traveling with her 13-year-old daughter. No other injuries were reported.

Rescue officials used the Jaws of Life to remove Reynolds from her vehicle.

Traffic, which was slowed about 20 minutes to allow wreck cleanup, has returned to normal.
