Coosa Valley Technical College is offering its second Summer Manufacturing Camp, a summer camp experience for area youth ages 14 to 16.
The camp will be held June 9-13 on the Floyd County campus. Approximately 30 participants will attend hands-on sessions with knowledgeable instructors in the areas of robotics, computer-assisted drafting, machine tool, injection molding and industrial electronics.
One day of the camp will be devoted to industrial tours of Pirelli Tire, F&P Georgia and Suzuki Manufacturing.
Thanks to tremendous community support and a grant from the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association, tuition for the week-long camp is a very reasonable $35, said Tom Sills, CVTC grants coordinator.
Checks should be made payable to Coosa Valley Technical College.
Interested participants may stop by CVTCs Floyd County Campus to register. For more information about CVTCs Summer Camp, contact Tom Sills at 706-295-6538 or via email at tsills@coosavalleytech.edu.
