Bethany Erin Holt and Brooklyn James Stiefel were married at 7 p.m., Saturday, April 26, 2008, at Proctor Farm in Armuchee.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Craig Holt of Summerville. She is the granddaughter of Linda Greene of Summerville, the late Ray Greene and the late Mr. and Mrs. Gene Holt.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Lloyd Stiefel of Rosedale. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Stiefel and the late Mr. and Mrs. Myers Daniel.
The Rev. Bill Landers performed the double-ring ceremony before a rustic altar illuminated with an antique crystal chandelier. The altar was adorned with an assortment of cascading spring flowers. The aisle was lined with wrought-iron candle holders with orange and pink rose petals scattered along the aisle edges.
A program of wedding music was performed by acoustic guitarist John Stone, cousin of the groom. Selections included I Loved Her First, If I Could Get Close to You, Canon in D, Trumpet Voluntary, Bridal March, You Sexy Thing, and Hallelujah Chorus.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, wore a strapless satin A-line gown with beaded embroidery featuring a satin belt with a brooch attached and an organza skirt. She wore western boots and in one of the boots she carried a six-pence belonging to the grooms late paternal grandmother. She wore a tiara made up of crystals and pearls belonging to her aunt. The bride carried a bouquet of white delphinium orchids and pink peonies wrapped with white satin ribbon, which was tied to the wedding band of her late grandfather.
Natalie Williams of Calhoun was the matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Kari Groce and Melea Welch, both of Calhoun, and Joy Renfro of Adairsville. They wore tea-length canary yellow dresses along with matching western boots. The bridesmaids each wore a pearl necklace with a silver locket and pearl teardrop earrings, made and presented to them by the bride. The bridesmaids clutch bouquets consisted of yellow tulips, daisies, and pink peonies wrapped with yellow satin ribbon.
Abby Groce and Katelyn Williams, both of Calhoun, were the flower girls. They wore white dresses featuring satin bodices with tea-length organza skirts accented with white bows. They also wore handmade pearl bracelets, gifts from the bride. They carried small galvanized pails decorated with sheer green ribbon and filled with pink and orange rose petals.
Derek Stiefel of Rosedale, brother of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were Jared Holt of Summerville, brother of the bride, Nate Chambers of Rosedale, G.W. Horton of Rome and Jacob Williams of Calhoun.
Mason Sterner of Summerville, cousin of the bride, and Jaxon Stone of Nashville, Tenn., cousin of the groom, were the ring bearers.
The mother of the bride wore a tea-length brown eyelet sundress with a lime green necklace, sterling silver earrings and western boots. The mother of the groom wore a turquoise linen sundress with pale pink western boots and a straw cowboy hat. They carried small clutch bouquets of green spider mums tied with sheer green ribbon. The brides grandmother wore a pink peony for her corsage accented with white satin ribbon.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Proctor Farms pavilion. Refreshments included the brides five-tier red velvet cake with cream cheese icing in a basket weave design topped with flowers matching the bridesmaids bouquets. The grooms cake was a three-tier yellow cake with chocolate icing topped with antique gamecocks belonging to the grooms mother. The grooms aunt made both cakes as a gift to the couple. The couple left the reception in their International flat bed truck driven by the brother of the groom.
The evening before the wedding, the grooms parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Proctor Farms High Lonesome Saloon. Other pre-nuptial parties included a china shower hosted by Melea Welch; a couples shower hosted by Jacob and Natalie Williams; a couples kitchen shower hosted by David and Debra Lorrens; a lingerie shower hosted by Kari Groce and Joy Renfro; a miscellaneous shower hosted by the young adult Sunday school class and adult choir of First Baptist Church in Summerville; a miscellaneous shower given by the faculty of Calhoun Elementary School; a bridal luncheon given by the brides aunts, Rhonda Sterner and Kim McGuire and a girls night out hosted by the bridesmaids.
After a wedding trip to Gulf Shores, Ala., the couple resides in Rosedale.
