A marrow donor drive will be held at Redmond Regional Medical center on Friday, May 16, from noon until 5 p.m. in Classroom A in the lower level of the hospital.
The drive is part of a national Mothers Day-themed campaign called Thanks Mom.
According to Redmond, only three in 10 patients who need marrow transplants get the life-saving procedure because many people do not have a family match.
Individuals can go to the drive to join the National Marrow Donor Program registry, which is done with a cheek swab. Monetary donations to the program will also be accepted.
