Popular Christian band Hawk Nelson comes to West Rome Baptist Church on April 26.
Hailing from Ontario, Canada, the band’s edgy punk sound has become popular on the Christian music scene and it was voted “Favorite New Artist” by CCM Magazine two years ago.
Fresh off the release of their third full-length studio album, “Hawk Nelson is My Friend,” the band is currently on its “Green T Tour” with Run Kid Run.
West Rome Baptist is just one of several tour dates nationwide in the band’s aggressive promotional tour schedule.
“We’re expecting to see a lot of teenagers and younger people at the concert,” said Bill Bostick, volunteer coordinator for the event. “We’re targeting the middle schoolers up to high school-aged kids.”
Bostick said Hawk Nelson’s Christian rock/punk sound should appeal to a wide audience and West Rome Baptist is happy to host the band.
Band members include Jason Dunn on lead vocals and piano, Daniel Biro on bass and backing vocals, Jonathan Steingard on guitar and backing vocals and Justin Benner on drums.
Hawk Nelson appears at West Rome Baptist Church, located at 914 Shorter Ave., on April 26.
Tickets are $15. Concertgoers can purchase a green T-shirt for $4 which will get them into a special meet-and-greet session with the band before the show. Shirts are available for purchase before the concert on the day of the show.
Green T T-shirt doors open at 5:30, regular admission doors open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m.
Tickets are available locally at West Rome Baptist Church, Heaven’s Attic and Bible Book Store.
“I think it’s going to be a very popular concert,” Bostick said. “The band is very successful and I’m sure local kids are going to love the music.”
