Four men were arrested this week after an investigation into stolen property led police to a suspected chop shop located at 490 Sewell Road, in Bartow County near Aragon.

According to Bartow County Sheriff’s Office reports:

Eric Bohannon Sr., 39, Robert Eric Bohannon Jr., 18, Craig Randall Carter, 18, all of White, and Rodney Blake Gravley, 39, of Canton, each were charged with one count of operating a chop shop. Bohannon Sr., Bohannon Jr. and Gravely have also been charged with five counts each of theft by receiving stolen property. Carter is facing four counts of theft by receiving stolen property.

A two-day search of the Sewell Road property uncovered heavy equipment and trailers reportedly stolen from Adairsville, Bartow, Cobb and Cherokee counties, police said. The items are worth about $90,000. Also found were three trailers valued at $20,000; the owners have not yet been identified.

Authorities say they also discovered parts from two semi-trucks and trailers that were being cut down for sale as scrap metal. Based on serial and vehicle identification numbers found at the scene, investigators estimate that about $100,000 worth of property had been destroyed and sold as scrap.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible, officials said. The suspects are being held in the Bartow County Jail.
