An Adairsville man is in jail without bond for not returning to the Rome Diversion Center, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Roy Edward Evans, 53, of 299 E. Pleasant Valley, was arrested on a warrant Thursday and charged with felony escape.
Evans reportedly was sentenced in Superior Court in Bartow County for possession of a firearm and violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act to serve a period of time in the Rome Diversion Center.
On Nov. 7, 2005, he walked out of the center on an authorized pass, but failed to return.
He remains in jail without a bond. Inmates at the center, located near Northwest Georgia Regional Hospital on Division Street, are allowed to leave during the day to work, but must return at night.
