Berry College faculty member Dr. Lynnwood Belvin has been appointed editor of education for Academic Intersections, an innovative new peer-reviewed online journal hosted by Apple.
Belvin is an associate professor of teacher education and director of educational technology for the Charter School of Education and Human Sciences.
Academic Intersections provides a media-rich venue for exploring the new knowledge emerging from the integration of technology and the scholarship of teaching and learning in higher education.
Technology is changing how education happens for all students, and this journal will provide an opportunity for researchers to communicate these changes to graduate, post-graduate and professional students as well as undergraduates, said Belvin, who was honored as a Distinguished Educator by Apple in 2004. Academic Intersections will encourage formal scholarship in teaching, learning and technology by providing an outlet for peer-reviewed research in this field.
A native of Tullahoma, Tenn., Belvin has been a Berry faculty member since 1999. Prior to his appointment at Berry College, he served as director of technology for the Tullahoma City School System in Tennessee. He was a teacher and administrator in the Tullahoma system from 1976 until 1998.
