Roman George Anderson, with the Ethics in Government Group, has filed an open records request with the county concerning its legal fight with the owner of an adult bookstore as well as the prosecution of Gordon Lee, a local comic book store owner.

Anderson is specifically looking for the costs the county has incurred.

The county has been sued by Charles Craton, who opened an adult bookstore on Ga. 53 in Shannon, after the county adopted an adult entertainment ordinance that could eventually force the store to close at its current site.

Lee, meanwhile, has been prosecuted for allegedly distributing indecent material after an employee handed out a comic with a nude depiction of Pablo Picasso to a minor in 2004.

A mistrial in that case was ordered Monday after the prosecution alluded during opening arguments to a previous incident involving Lee.

District Attorney Leigh Patterson said she would try to bring the case back to a jury next year.
