Stratton - Brannon
Jillian LeAnne Brannon and Taylor Aaron Stratton were married at 6 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007, in Frost Chapel at Berry College in Rome.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Patrick Brannon of Summerville.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Lynn Stratton of Lexington, S.C.
The Rev. Cynthia Stratton, aunt of the groom, performed the double-ring ceremony before two brass seven-branch candelabras adorned with Italian ruscus and English ivy. Monogram wreaths of blue hydrangea decorated the chapel entrance and bouquets of blue hydrangea and cascading ivy were placed along the center aisle. Large garden arrangements of summer blossoms including gladiola, delphinium, oriental lilies and hydrangea were placed in the chancel area. Upon arrival, guests were transported to the chapel in a trolley. The bride and her father arrived at the ceremony by limousine.
A program of wedding music was performed by harpist Fay Ellen Steelnack of Rome and organist Neil Sanders. Selections included Canon in D, Surely the Presence of the Lord is in this Place, Bridal Chorus, Bridal March and The Prayer.
Jayne Ellen Littlejohn of Philadelphia, Penn., was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Laura Elizabeth Agnew, Lindsey Case Perry, Laina Stephens Corgel, all of Atlanta and Celestia Taylor Hollis and Margaret Elizabeth Watts, both of Savannah. They wore cornflower blue A-line one-piece silk and satin dupioni dresses featuring strapless bodices and black satin sashes. The bridesmaids carried hand-tied bouquets of white roses and blue hydrangea banded by black satin ribbon.
The bride, escorted and given in marriage by her father, wore a white gown. The slim A-line, lace over satin gown tapering into a sweep train was sprinkled with crystals, seed beads, bugle beads, glass beads and sequins. The bodice featured a sweetheart neckline and empire ribbon accent. Her fingertip veil of illusion was detailed in sequins and crystals. The bride wore a tiara accented with crystals and pearls. Her necklace and earrings were a gift from her parents. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of white roses and stephanotis accented by hydrangea in blue and fresh green.
The father of the groom was best man. Groomsmen were Matthew Randall Lanius of Fernandina Beach, Fla., Daniel Ryan Brannon of Clemson, S.C., Kevin Patrick LaHatte and Michael Ashton Parker, both of Atlanta and Casey Keith Wells of Rincon.
The mother of the bride wore a frost blue hand crocheted dress accented with bugle beads and a scoop-neck with a long-sleeved jacket. She wore a pearl necklace and earrings, and carried a bouquet of roses and hydrangea. The mother of the groom wore a mauve two-piece shimmer dress featuring an organza jacket with tonal beading on the collar and cuffs. She carried a bouquet of roses and hydrangea.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Magretta Hall in Rome. Refreshments included the brides four-layer sour cream pound cake with white chocolate mousse filling and butter cream icing. The cake was decorated with blue icing and white accents and included the couples monogram. The bridal confection was accented by white roses and English ivy. The grooms cake was a chocolate Irish crème cake with cream cheese filling decorated with a Georgia Tech theme. It was accented with chocolate dipped strawberries.
The evening before the wedding, the grooms parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Claremont House in Rome.
Other pre-nuptial parties included an engagement dinner given by the parents of the bride; a stock the bar party was hosted by Laina Corgel and Lindsey Perry in Atlanta; a kitchen shower for family hosted by Karen Hart and Lori Hart Ebert at the Hart home in LaFayette; a drop-in shower at the West Armuchee Community Center hosted by Angel Manning, Thelma Grigsby and Dixie Benson; a bridal shower given by the admission office staff at North Metro Technical College; a bachelorette party and lingerie shower in Atlanta given by bridesmaids and friends; a bachelor party hosted by Matthew Lanius and Ashton Parker; a bridesmaids luncheon held at Harvest Moon Cafe in Rome hosted by the bride and her mother and a brunch given the morning of the wedding for the bride and bridesmaids hosted by Ross and Ellen Littlejohn of LaFayette.
After a wedding trip to the U.S. Virgin Islands, the couple resides in Powder Springs.

Harvey - Gooch
Angela Marie Gooch and Ryan Patrick Harvey, both of Silver Creek, were married at 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at the Claremont House in Rome.
The bride is the daughter of Carolyn Gooch of Statesboro and Bill and Carole Gooch of Kingston.
The groom is the son of Judy Harvey of Dallas and the late Bruce Harvey.
The Rev. Ryan Mitchell performed the ceremony on the steps of the Claremont House which were flanked by ivy topiaries filled at the base with fall flowers and draped with ivory tulle. The archway of the house was decorated with ivory tulle and flowers.
A program of wedding music included Appalachia Waltz, Canon in D and When Love Comes. Soloist Payton Silvers of Kingston performed You Wont Ever Be Lonely, Lost in the Moment and Another You, Another Me.
Christina Cooper of Rome, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. She wore a red strapless satin ballgown with satin rouching and a beaded bodice. She carried a smaller version of the brides bouquet.
The bride, given in marriage by her family and escorted by her father, wore a split champagne overskirt with a chapel-length train embellished with lace and beaded details. She wore a comb of ivory pearls and crystals. The bride carried a bouquet of hand-tied fall flowers including sunflowers, miniature tea roses, spider mums, chrysanthemums, miniature cattails, fall leaves and hypericum berries in colors ranging from deep red to pale yellow and orange.
Keith Lightner of Cedartown was the best man. Mitchell Cooper of Rome, brother-in-law of the bride, was the usher.
The mother of the bride wore a tea-length sheath of deep gold satin with a matching jacket closed with crystal button clasps. The stepmother of the bride wore a tea-length chocolate brown dress with spaghetti straps and a full skirt with tulle overlay. The mother of the groom wore a floor-length royal blue sheath with iridescent sheen and a matching sheer jacket with silver embellishments. They wore corsages of deep red mums and natural berries.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Claremont House in Rome.
Prenuptial parties included a bridal shower hosted by the brides sister at the Harvest Moon Café in Rome and a bachelor party hosted by Keith Lightner.
After a wedding trip to Hilton Head, S.C., the couple resides in Silver Creek.

Sarah Rebekah Barnett of Lindale and Brandon Wood of Rome were married at 5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, at First Baptist Church of Lindale.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. John Barnett of Lindale.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Will Wood of Rome.

Bridesmaids were Jessica Sanders and Jordan Sanders, both of Lindale, cousins of the bride; Michelle Plemons of Aragon; Kelly Dooley and Jennifer Whitaker, both of Rome; Kristy Boyd and Susan Williams, both of Silver Creek and Whitney White-Gullege of Rockmart. They wore blue topaz one-piece organza strapless gowns accented with chocolate satin bands on the bodices. The bridesmaids carried tussie mussies of ivory roses. Junior bridesmaids were Anna Barnett, niece of the bride and Allie Williams, both of Silver Creek. They wore chocolate satin one-piece gowns accented with blue topaz bands on the bodices. They carried a bouquet of ivory sweetheart roses. The bridesmaids wore rhinestone necklaces and earrings, gifts from the bride.
Reagan Dooley and Riley Mae Dooley, both of Rome, were the flower girls. They wore ivory dresses with a chocolate ribbon at the waist with a chocolate rose and chocolate rose petals floating in the bottom of the dress. They wore pearl necklaces and earrings and a rhinestone tiara, gifts from the bride.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, wore a candle light strapless corset-back gown with a cut-away over the skirt with a chapel-length train adorned with pearls, glass beads, sequins, bugle beads and seed beads. She wore a veil with a rhinestone tiara with pearl and rhinestone earrings and a pearl necklace that belonged to the brides late grandmother, Dot Agan.
The father of the groom was the best man. Groomsmen were Brice Wood, brother of the groom, Elliot Godfrey and Jake Whitaker, all of Rome; Todd Williams of Silver Creek, brother-in-law of the bride; Jason Sanders of Lindale, cousin of the bride; Neal Belcher, Jamey Cox and Jeff DeAngelas, all of Atlanta. Will Anderson of Lindale was the junior groomsman.
Nash Williams, nephew of the bride and Ben Welchel, both of Silver Creek, were the ring bearers.
The mother of the bride wore an ice blue gown accented with iridescent beads around the top with a matching long-sleeved jacket accented with iridescent beads on the cuffs. The mother of the groom wore a mocha iridescent organza gown with a matching jacket with three-quarter length sleeves accented with beaded cuffs. They wore wrist corsages of white sweetheart roses. The grandmother of the groom was presented with a corsage of roses.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Centre Stage. Refreshments included the brides three-tier white cake with butter cream icing and accented with chocolate and aqua ribbon and scroll work. The grooms cake was a chocolate cake made in the shape of two tennis racquets with a ball on top and a can of balls to the side.

Cynthia Ann Seago and Carl Robert Hirt Jr. were married on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at Southern Magnolia Chapel.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Seago of Rome.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hirt of Cartersville.

Debbie Corbin of Monroe, La., was the maid of honor. Pam Crowder of Cartersville was the bridesmaid. They wore strapless clover green dresses featuring a small belt at the waist and carried long-stemmed pink roses.
Levi McCall was the best man. Shawn Hirt was the groomsman. John Corbin was the usher.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a strapless floor-length white dress with a toile inset on the left side and featuring a bodice made of criss-crossed satin with touches of crystals and pearls. Covered buttons enhanced the back of the dress. She wore a veil and a princess tiara with white toile enhanced with crystals and pearls. The bride carried a bouquet of white roses.
The mother of the bride wore a two-piece brown dress with pink roses. The jacket had a spilt back, and the collar and sleeves were enhanced with lace insets. The mother of the groom wore a peach V-neck dress with pearls and sequins along the top, bodice and straps, with a pleated inset in front with pearls and sequins and a short train with pearls and sequins. They both wore white rose corsages.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Southern Magnolia Chapel. Refreshments included the brides three-tier white cake with pink and light green flowers. The topper had the couples initials in silver rhinestones. The grooms cake was a chocolate cake with chocolate pudding filling and grapes on the top. The topper was the bride pulling the groom with the back of her dress.
Pre-nuptial showers included a shower given by Pam Crowder, sister of the bride; a bridal shower given by Cave Spring Elementary School and a bridal shower given by Sherwood Forest Church.
After a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple resides in Cartersville.

The bride is the daughter of Charles and Patsy Blomquist of Lindale.
The groom is the son of Mary Cox of Rome and Charles Warner of Cedartown.
The Rev. Scott Hale performed the ceremony before an altar decorated with ferns and a 15-branch brass candelabra and a unity candle.
A program of wedding music included How Do You Fall in Love, Bridal March, Wedding March and I Cross My Heart.
Tosha Harmon of Tunnel Hill was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kandi Edwards of Silver Creek and Cherish Stephens of Rome. They wore strapless, floor-length persimmon gowns with a small train and carried bouquets of fall flowers.
Eva Jane Ellenburg of Rome was the flower girl. She wore a white dress with a bow in the back and carried a brown basket filled with leaves.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore a white strapless gown with pearls and lace on top and a medium-length train. She wore a veil accented with pearls. The bride carried a bouquet of fall flowers.
Michael Stewart of Cedartown was the best man. Groomsmen were Chad Warner of North Hudson, N.Y., and Joe Warner of Cedartown.
The mother of the bride wore a taupe colored long-sleeved dress. The mother of the groom wore a dark green long-sleeved dress.

Reid - Kendrick
Julie Michelle Kendrick and Geoffrey Michael Reid, both of Atlanta, were married at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at the Rome Convention Center Amphitheater.
The bride is the daughter of Gene and Linda Kendrick of Rome.
The groom is the son of Kevin and Becky Reid of Greenville, S.C.
Dr. Calvin Brown performed the ceremony in the rustic setting of the amphitheater which was decorated with a candle lit path and fall colored ribbons hanging from surrounding trees.
A program of wedding music was provided by harpist Faye Ellen Steelnack.
Holly Harris of West Palm Beach, Fla., was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Leslie Bellamy, Christie Bazemore, both of Atlanta and Stephanie Johnson of Milledgeville. They wore strapless empire-waist, floor-length chocolate brown gowns. They carried fall colored bouquets made of wooden and dried flowers.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, wore a gown of ivory chiffon designed with a draped bodice and hand-beaded spaghetti straps. The empire-waist was encircled with champagne colored beading. A deep V-back featured soft gathering and a split layer of chiffon that flowed to the hem of the chapel-length train. She wore a headpiece made with lace leaves taken from her mothers bridal veil, feathers and champagne colored beads.
The father of the groom was the best man. Groomsmen were James Cromer of Spartanburg, S.C., Nick Miller of Greer, S.C., and Daryl Gray of Spartanburg, S.C.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Rome Civic Center. Refreshments included the brides three-tier cake with cream cheese icing and decorated with ornate butterflies and topped with a vintage birdcage. The grooms cake was a two-tier chocolate cake frosted with chocolate icing and decorated with strawberries and white chocolate guitars and topped with a cowboy hat and guitar.
The evening before the wedding, the grooms parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Harvest Moon Café.
After a wedding trip to Playa del Carmen, Mexico, the couple resides in Atlanta.

Wheat - Duke
Amanda Elizabeth Duke of Armuchee and Thomas Matthew Wheat of Silver Creek were married at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, in a private ceremony at Sandals Resort, Jamaica.
The bride is the daughter of Steve and Betty Duke of Armuchee.
The groom is the son of Ray and Sharon Wheat of Silver Creek.
The double-ring ceremony was performed in a gazebo by the beach. The gazebo of marble and stone etched with doves and wedding bells was topped with decorative heart-shaped black wrought iron and flanked by black wrought iron lampposts.
The bride wore a gown of white organza over matte satin with a strapless bodice featuring an embroidered pattern of hand-beaded clear crystals and silver sequins forming a scallop over the sweetheart neckline. The dropped waist was designed with rouching from the embroidery to below the hip and released a plain organza pick-up skirt that flowed into a semi chapel-length train. She wore a pearl and diamond necklace with matching earrings, gifts from the grooms parents. The bride carried a bouquet of fresh yellow, pink and white daisies wrapped in white satin ribbon.
Following the ceremony, a private reception was held at the resort. After returning from their honeymoon in Jamaica, a reception was held at the Etowah Park Senior Adult Center in Rome. Refreshments included the brides three-tier vanilla cake with each tier adorned with the couples initials, roses and ribbon. The cake was topped with a flower bouquet. The grooms cake was chocolate and was decorated with the University of Georgia logo.
Pre-nuptial parties included an engagement party hosted by Hazel Duke, the brides grandmother, in the Floyd Springs Baptist Church Fellowship Hall; a beach party hosted by Annette Earwood, the grooms grandmother, at Gingers Dollings and Cattywags; a miscellaneous shower hosted by Laura Howard and Susan Davis at Etowah Parks Senior Adult Center; a wedding shower hosted by the grooms aunts, Dottie Wheat, Rita Wheat and Carolyn Wheat at Bekaert Union Hall; a bride-to-be shower hosted by the women of Floyd Springs Baptist Church; a couples gift card shower hosted by Ryan Teems and Chelsea Daniels in their home; a bachelor weekend in Nashville, Tenn., and a lingerie shower and bachelorette weekend in Savannah hosted by the brides sister, Anna Duke.
After a wedding trip in Jamaica, the couple reside in Silver Creek.

Gandy - Simmons
Amy Marie Simmons and Dustin Brad Gandy, both of Rome, were married at 6 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at West Rome Baptist Church.
The bride is the daughter of Jim and Linda Simmons of Rome.
The groom is the son of Steve and Vickie Gandy of Silver Creek.
The father of the groom performed the ceremony within a sanctuary decorated with a four-column colonnade with cascading plumosia, variegated pittosporum and elliagnes draped from the top and the center arch with ferns placed at the base of the columns. There were hurricane globe lanterns scattered around the columns accented with mixed foliage and chiffon ribbon. The church rails leading to the front doors were draped with garlands of mixed foliages and white bows and the doors were decorated with swags of mixed foliage and chiffon ribbons.
A program of wedding music was performed by vocalists Colby Pendrey of Clayton and Jennifer Glenn, both of Rome, violinist Dick Tracy of Rome and pianist Luda Kwon of Atlanta. Selections included Take My Life, I Will Be Here, When God Made You, How Beautiful, Surely the Presence of the Lord Is In This Place, Canon in D, God of Our Fathers, and Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee.
Holly Matthews of Rome was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Tiffany Babb, Terri Coffey, Joyce Haikal, all of Rome, Deyse Lopez of Trussville, Ala., Mary Owen of Auburn, Ala., and Stephanie Turner of Kennesaw. Honorary bridesmaids were Beth Gandy of Rockmart and Kelly Gandy of Jacksonville, Ala., both sister-in-laws of the groom. They wore strapless formal gowns of teal chiffon featuring sweetheart bodices adorned around the top with matching embroidered beadwork. The A-line skirts had an apron affect with matching beadwork at the waist. They wore necklaces crafted by the bride with matching earrings made of crystals. The bridesmaids carried clutch bouquets of stargazer lilies, gerbera daisies, stock and roses in colors of bright yellow, fuchsia and deep purple.
Amara Lee Jackson of Rome was the flower girl. She wore an ivory dress featuring a rounded neckline beaded with tiny pearls and a sleeveless bodice covered with pearls and sequins. The empire waistline was emphasized by a champagne sash and a rhinestone buckle which fell into a floor-length skirt overlaid with ivory chiffon. She wore a necklace crafted by the bride made of crystals and pearls. She carried a basket made of ivory satin overlaid with chiffon and filled with antique lavender and iridescent silk butterflies.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents and brothers and escorted by her father, wore a formal gown of ivory duchess satin featuring a strapless sweetheart bodice which was overlaid with cascading beaded lace creating a modified Basque waistline. The fully gored skirt featured an extended chapel-length train edged with scalloped beaded alencon lace and beaded lace appliqués. She wore a head-piece featuring a comb of fresh water pearls and rhinestones. The single-layer fingertip veil of ivory illusion was embroidered on the edge with a floral design with clear bugle beads, sequins and seed bead accents. She wore diamond earrings that were giving to her by her late grandmother. The bride carried a hand-gathered bouquet of roses, lilies, miniature gerbera daisies, stock and euplurium in mixed colors of pink, yellow, purple and cream. She also carried a Bible that her mother carried in her wedding that was covered with handmade lace.
Jerod Gandy of Jacksonville, Ala., brother of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were John Gandy of Rockmart, Corey Gandy of Silver Creek, brothers of the groom, Christopher Fries of Jacksonville, Ala., Andrew Simmons of Carrollton, twin brother of the bride, Michael Simmons of Kennesaw and Christopher Simmons of Rome, brothers of the bride.
John Lukas Gandy of Rockmart, nephew of the groom, was the ring bearer.
Ushers were Brandon Pisacrita and Bryan Ayers, both of Jacksonville, Ala., and Francisco Martinez of Atlanta.
The mother of the bride wore a formal gown of marine blue crepe featuring a strapless, fitted sweetheart bodice with soft accordion pleats accented with a satin band edging the top, bustline and waist. The full, floor-length skirt had a chiffon overlay. The dress was accented with a matching chiffon shawl trimmed with a satin band. She wore a necklace of crystals and pearls made by the bride with matching earrings. She wore a wristlet of white cymbidium orchids with hot pink spray roses. The mother of the groom wore a ruby tea-length sheath dress with a chiffon overlay and a matching chiffon jacket with three-quarter length sleeves. The flounced hem of the dress and the jacket bodice were decorated with embroidered ruby flowers. She wore a corsage of white cymbidium orchids with hot pink spray roses. The grandmothers wore corsages of white cymbidium orchids.
Following the ceremony, the Rome Toonerville Trolley transported the bridal couple and the wedding party to the reception held at Berry College in the Ford dining room. Refreshments included the brides four-tier square white cake with pineapple cream filling and cream cheese icing. Each tier was separated with an acrylic stand and each separation was adorned with roses, lilies, miniature gerbera daisies, silk butterflies and topped with a miniature matching bridal bouquet. The grooms cake was a chocolate cake with strawberry filling featuring a Star Wars theme. The Georgian Orchestra provided the entertainment at the reception.
The evening before the wedding, the grooms parents and Ken and Carol Fries hosted a rehearsal dinner at West Rome Baptist Church in The Well.
