The Jennings Funeral Homes have been purchased by a Peachtree City couple, Greg and Debbie Rollings, both lifelong funeral directors, Jennings officials announced today.

The Rollings own 13 funeral homes in Georgia and three in South Carolina, Greg Rollings said. The sale was finalized last week.

The Jennings Funeral Homes were founded in 1931 and have served the Rome community for more than 75 years. For the past 15 years, the businesses were owned by Service Corporation International.

Greg Rollings will be very active in the business, however the service to families will be provided by Ray Miles, Weyman Mathis Andy McGuire and all of the current staff of the locations.

"I don't know if the people of Rome realize it, but the Jennings Funeral Homes have an impeccable reputation throughout the state of Georgia," Greg Rollings said. "We are, obviously extremely excited and hope to be able to continue and improve on the service that's provided by the businesses."

"I've been looking forward to this day for about 6 months when the conversations with Mr. Rollings began," Miles said. "I believe that this change is going to be great for all of the staff and definitely good for people of Rome who have used the Jennings Funeral Homes in the past, or really, anyone in Rome that wants a funeral service that honors their loved one with respect at a reasonableprice."
