Trotter - Langford wedding

Courtney Nicole Langford of Rome and Andrew Lee Trotter of Lindale were married at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2007, at Fairview Baptist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Langford of Rome. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Trotter of Lindale.

Bill Landers of Rome performed the double-ring ceremony. The church was decorated with three 15-branch brass candelabras, all adorned with mixed gerber daisies and white and silver bows. Ferns were also included. A unity stand holding three taper candles was adorned with mixed gerber daisies and a silver bow. Bouquets of a mixture of hot pink and light pink gerber daisies and pictures of the couple’s late grandfathers were placed in the church foyer.

The Mother of Pearl Bible used in the ceremony was brought back by the groom’s great-grandmother from the Holy Land and was used in her wedding as well as the wedding of the groom’s parents.

Lindsey Stager, cousin of the groom, was the bridal book attendant, and programs were distributed by Emma Roberts and Molly Roberts.

A program of wedding music was provided by pianist Amy Waters. Selections included “Canon in D,” “The Parents Prayer,” “Air,” “Bridal Chorus,” “When God Made You” and “Wedding March.”

Macy Burnette of Armuchee, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Sarah Trotter of Lindale, sister of the groom, and Misty Nix of Lindale.

Attendants wore hot pink satin mock, two-piece gowns accented in black satin fabric and A-line skirts with matching hot pink satin sandals accented in bugle beads. They carried clutch bouquets of a mixture of Anna roses, ravel roses, Mona Lisa roses and vogue roses surrounded by a collar of galax leaves. The stems were wrapped with white satin ribbon.

Paige Nix and Parker Nix of Lindale were flower girls. They wore white satin A-line gowns accented in bodice with crystal sequins and beads and carried white satin baskets filled with pink and white rose petals.

The bride, escorted by her father and given by her parents, chose a white satin halter-top gown with crystal accents and a full A-line skirt accented with satin-covered buttons in back. The full skirt flowed into a chapel-length train. She wore a tiara of pearls and crystals with a fingertip veil. She wore pearl earrings, a gift from the groom’s sister. She carried a clutch bouquet of Anna roses, ravel roses, Mona Lisa roses and vogue roses surrounded by a collar of galax leaves. The stems were wrapped in cream satin ribbon. The bride carried the wedding band of the groom’s great-grandfather, a heart pin of the bride’s great-grandmother and an embroidered handkerchief, given by the mother of the bride the morning of the wedding.

The father of the groom was best man. Groomsmen were Derek Forrister of Knoxville and James Madden of Lindale.

Ayden Langford of Silver Creek, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.

The mother of the bride wore a two-piece lime silk suit. The three-quarter-length sleeve jacket was accented with crystal buttons and had a matching short sheath skirt. The mother of the groom wore a tea-length mauve sleeveless dress with a matching sheer ruffled collared jacket. The mothers carried a smaller version of the bridesmaids’ bouquets. The grandmothers were presented with single rose corsages.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Coosa Valley Technical College Conference Center. Guests were greeted by MaryAnn Westmoreland. Refreshments included the bride’s four-tier round white cake with pale pink butter cream icing. Each layer was adorned with small hot pink dots and fresh rose petals. The bride’s cake was topped with a bride and groom figurine given by Pat Hyde. The groom chooses a two-tier yellow cake with chocolate icing. The top later was double hearts and adorned with chocolate-covered strawberries and a heart engraved with the couple’s name and wedding date. Servers included Anna Chafin, Jennifer Classen, Amanda Kay and Ashley Kay. Katie Dyer, Maggie Kate Dyer and Dakota Mobbs distributed favors.

The evening before the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents in the Coosa Valley Technical College Conference Center.

Other pre-nuptial parties included a Christmas shower hosted by kindergarten and office staff at Pepperell Primary School; a miscellaneous shower hosted by Jean Price, Carla Dyer and Gina Clevenger at the Price home; a miscellaneous shower hosted by Donna Sutton, Janet Fricks and Fonda Mathis at the Sutton home; a miscellaneous shower hosted by Kathy Rayburn and Tubby Kerr, aunts of the bride, at the Rayburn home; a miscellaneous shower hosted by the ladies of Fairview Baptist Church at the church; a bridesmaids’ brunch hosted by Teresa Lumsden, Amy Duke and Julie Mitchell at the Lumsden home; a lingerie shower hosted by Sarah Trotter, Beth Goss and Misty Nix at Fuddruckers and a miscellaneous shower hosted by Misti Mobbs and Macy Burnette at Shindigz.

After a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple resides in Lindale.
